Power of the Presenting Pause
This the basis of the conversation I have with Alan Carroll on the latest episode of the Better Presentations More Sales Podcast as Alan shares the benefits of the Power of the Presenting Pause
Alan is an education psychologist who now specialises in helping presenters and speakers be relaxed and confident in front of an audience as part of a transformational journey from being an amateur speaker to delivering like or actually being a professional speaker.
Key to this is controlling the timing of your presentation delivery and that is enabled by recognising and implementing the power of the presenting pause as doing so creates a space between your thoughts to give you the freedom to express yourself better.
Speak slower, be conscious of your breathing and use the power of the presenting pause
During the episode Alan shares several examples of how this can work for you and offers some tips and advice to help you fully understand the benefits of speaking as Alan says in first gear not fourth gear
Salespeople in particular are notorious at speaking really quickly, without drawing breath
